Question
What gets added to “feelings”?
Compare “FEELINGS”, “MY FEELINGS” and “I FEEL IT IN MY BODY”. The examples show which words appear in the explanations. Below, you can write your own continuation and compare it with the original entry.
01
What is written
The original entry:
FEELINGS
Eight letters. The first four spell FEEL; that is still a sequence of letters within the written word. Now consider another entry:
FEELINGS ARE FELT
The words “ARE FELT” have been added after “FEELINGS”. They propose a claim about what the first word names. “ARE FELT” is also written in letters.
The relationship between the words does not turn the writing into what it names. Even if the claim is accurate, what the page presents is three written words.
02
The suggested explanations
This sequence was written for the example. These are suggested continuations, not the reader’s responses or steps that every reading must follow.
MY FEELINGS
I FEEL
I FEEL IT IN MY BODY
SOMETHING IS HAPPENING TO ME
“MY” first appears in the second line. “I FEEL” is a different phrase. The fourth adds “IT IN MY BODY” to it. The fifth changes the wording again.
“MY” and “I” propose a connection to whoever those words refer to. But “MY” and “I” are also written here. In the clarification “IN MY BODY”, “BODY” also consists of letters.
What supports that connection, and whether each description is accurate, are separate questions. Even a justified reference does not turn the writing into whoever or whatever it refers to.

Answer
What gets added to “feelings”?
Words and claims.
In these examples, “ARE FELT” or “MY” is added to “FEELINGS”. Later entries introduce “I FEEL” and the clarification “IT IN MY BODY”. These are specific additions and changes to the text.
Writing “MY FEELINGS” proposes a connection through the word “MY”. Adding “IN MY BODY” offers a further clarification. Those words do not themselves become the person they refer to or what the entry describes.
A description can be accurate and justified. Its accuracy does not turn the letters into what they name. Nor does this distinction show that what is described does not exist.
The explanation is also writing.
“Feelings”, “reference”, “description” and “letters” in this discussion are also written words. That includes beforeword’s explanations: a written explanation of their connection to what they name will also be text.
